OVERVIEW OF STATISTICS This page displays a recently reviewed Bank of Sierra Leone macro-economic time series database as far back as 2001 for the four (4) sectors of the economy i.e Real, External, Fiscal and Monetary and Financial sectors. Note however, the old version of the statistical dataset has been moved to the archive. REAL SECTOR The real sector data currently comprise of Production, Consumer Price Index, Inflation and Tourism statistics. EXTERNAL SECTOR The external sector data includes Official Exchange Rates, Trade Statistics (major exports, imports based on the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC) and direction of trade exports), Balance of Payments (BOP) and International Investment Position (IIP). FISCAL SECTOR Given that the fiscal sector is within the domain of the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Sierra Leone in this page, will report Government positions in-terms of revenue and expenditure guided by the information from the Ministry. MONETARY AND FINANCIAL SECTOR The monetary and financial sector displays; Financial statements (Assets and Liabilities) of Depository Corporations. The coverage currently includes the Central Bank - Bank of Sierra Leone and Other Depository Corporations (commercial banks, community banks, discount houses and other deposit-taking institutions). Holdings of Government Securities by sectors Position of Commercial Banks’ Loans by economic sectors Interest rates include monetary policy rate, commercial banks’ savings and lending rates and money market rates. Each sector is accompanied by a set of metadata that gives a clear descriptive information with regards the aggregates.
